We are thrilled to announce that our Canal Cruise event is back for The Jane Austen Festival 2026. 

Embark on an enchanting canal cruise inspired by the timeless elegance of Jane Austen. We’ll meet at Bath Spa train station and embark on a scenic train journey through the picturesque English countryside to the historic town of Bradford on Avon. Upon arrival you'll be greeted by a local historian who will guide you along the riverbank to the marina while exploring the history  of Bradford on Avon along the way. Once at the marina you'll board the ‘Barbara McLellan’ where you can relax and unwind as you sail on a peaceful, unhurried cruise along the tranquil canal. The Barbara McLellan will stop at Avoncliff Aqueduct where you can disembark to take in the wonderful view. A delectable afternoon tea will be served on board, offering the perfect accompaniment to this serene journey.
