Basic Safeguarding

How to do it, what to look for, what to do.

This course is for volunteers and staff in the voluntary (third) sector. It aims to raise awareness of safeguarding generally and develop understanding of and build confidence about:

• Your role in relation to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm abuse and neglect
• How to recognise different types of harm, abuse and neglect
• How individuals are protected from harm, abuse and neglect

Safeguarding is a valuable part of an organisation’s governance framework. It relates to health and safety; staff recruitment, development and retention; quality assurance and funding. Ensuring safeguarding is in place is essential for all third sector organisations, especially those that work with children, young people and adults at risk.

Mae sicrhau fod diogelu ar waith yn hanfodol i bob sefydliad trydydd sector, yn enwedig y rhai sy'n gweithio gyda phlant, pobl ifanc ac oedolion sydd mewn perygl.
