We are Bay Area Rope Club AKA BARC!

Welcome back to your friendly neighborhood rope bondage club!

Join us for Bay Area Rope Club's Rope Jam for all those old and new to the Bay Area Rope & Kink Community. Come socialize and catch up with your BARC friends, make new connections, and help build community within the Bay Area Rope & Kink Scene. We are welcoming anyone, from those curious about rope to those who are more experienced.

BARC events are a mix of an open space and a skill-share/workshop. You are welcome to participate in either or both. Find today's skill-share topics below.

Light snacks to replenish energy and music to help set the mood will be provided.

Rope Jam (Open Space)

Come with your rope partner or come by yourself to use the venue’s ample supply of floor space and hard points, or to socialize with us, all in a relaxing atmosphere surrounded by rope enthusiasts!

Today’s Skillshare (Newbie Night): A Comprehensive Introduction to Rope Bondage

Bay Area Rope Club will present an in-depth (2+hour) introduction to Rope Bondage for those who have an interest in learning it for the first time as well as those who would like to brush up on their foundational skills.

We will cover how to build your own rope kit, general rope safety, anatomy for rope bondage, consent and negotiations, and a broad selection of single column ties, double column ties, attachments, lock offs, ladders and more!

No prior knowledge and no partner are required to participate. Loaner rope & safety shears are available for those who do not have these supplies, but please bring your own if you have a personal stock.

COVID -19 PRECAUTIONS - Last Updated 2025-06-02

BARC does no longer check for COVID vaccinations at the door. We still do ask those who currently have any COVID-like symptoms or recently had COVID to wear masks or temporarily not attend our events.

We do ask attendees to be mindful of the state of their own health and voluntarily wear masks if you are showing mild COVID-like symptoms, and refrain from attending the event while you are sick. We also require everyone to refrain from attending BARC events while you are testing positive for COVID-19 and for the 10 days after onset of symptoms (as is recommended by the CDC).

If you have to cancel your ticket because you are testing positive for COVID-19 or are otherwise sick you can get your tickets refunded up to the time of the event.

Despite these precautions please note that exposure to COVID-19 is an inherent risk for yourself and those around you when attending BARC events - please reflect on your own risk profile before purchasing tickets and take precautions that you find are relevant to your own personal safety.

TICKETS

Tickets are set at a sliding scale between $10 - $20. Your financial contributions are deeply appreciated to help support our venue rental, supplies, BARC hosts & volunteers!

Please email bayarearopeclub@gmail.com ASAP if you find that you are unable to attend the Rope Jam and would like a refund or would like to transfer your tickets.

Ticket Transfers: You may up to the time of the event transfer your tickets to someone else by providing us with their name and/or email address. If you notify us 48 hours ahead of the event and include both name and email address we will transfer the ticket to them via the ticketing site. Alternatively or for later transfers you may send your ticket to them directly and notify us that someone else will be checking in with your ticket.

Ticket Cancellation and Refunds: You may cancel your tickets and will get a refund if you notify us 48 hours or more ahead of the event. Please understand that we can’t usually accept later cancellations as that would not give us enough time to make the tickets available to the waitlist.

Last Minute Refunds: To not discourage those who feel sick from refraining to attend we also offer a full refund for cancellations for medical reasons (such as COVID symptoms) until the beginning of the event, but still we kindly ask you to notify us as soon as possible.

Waitlist: Those who are on the waitlist, please use an email that you check often. When new tickets become available we will send an email to everyone on the waitlist, but tickets are still open to everyone on a first come basis. The last waitlist notifications typically go out 48 hours prior to the event.

ABOUT BAY AREA ROPE CLUB 

Established in the Summer of 2016, Bay Area Rope Club is a group of dedicated rope enthusiasts that champions open space for everyone interested in rope to come and learn. We encourage skill share within our group to not only grow the Bay Are Rope Community but to create connections. We are accepting of all gender, size, skill, orientation, and sexualities.

Our gatherings are a combination of skillshare, presentations, play-time, & social goodness. We will start each event with skillshare or a themed presentation followed by time to break out the ropes to enjoy some good play time!
