We will look at the theory of signal processing, tips on making more precise measurements when analysing bat sounds, and species identification including some more unusual/challenging calls

Techniques will be demonstrated in Anabat Insight, BatSound, Kaleidoscope and Sonobat. This workshop is a great follow-on from our 'Introduction to Sound Analysis' workshop. Although some prior knowledge of sound analysis is helpful, information will also be included for beginners.

Identifying bats in Flight (optional purchase)

This 28-page booklet introduces different types of bat detectors and gives an overview of field and call characteristics of UK bat species. However, it is not a requirement for the workshop and all attendees will receive a simpler PDF document showing species call shapes and call parameters.
