We warmly invite students, staff and members of our community to celebrate Refugee week hosted by the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team in collaboration with BCU Student Action for Refugees (STAR) Society.
What's on:
Film Screening
Reclaiming the Night (Norwegian Refugee Council, 2025, 18
mins). An award-winning short documentary following a pioneering
programme that helps refugee children overcome trauma-induced
nightmares. It’s message speaks directly to us here at BCU: what kind of space are we for those who arrive hoping to rebuild their lives?
Voices of Lived Experience
Hear directly from a student and a community member with personal
experience of seeking sanctuary, thereby putting human stories at the
centre of the conversation.
Q&A & Discussion
What does inclusion actually look and feel like at BCU? What does it
mean to be a University of Sanctuary; not just in name, but in the way
we learn, teach, and live together on campus?
This is your space to think, question, and shape what comes next. Students and staff are all equally invited to contribute.
Free lunch/refreshments provided

This event is open to all BCU students (undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral) and all staff, and community members.
