2025 is a momentous year for Beacon, our 150th anniversary. For a century and a half, we have been helping thousands of people impacted by sight loss, offering support, advice, and opportunities to live independent, fulfilling lives.

This prestigious event will bring together local businesses, community leaders, and Beacon beneficiaries for an evening of fine dining, entertainment, and impactful fundraising.

Compered by renowned radio host Dicky Dodd, the evening promises an exquisite three-course dinner and an inspiring speech from notable guest, Paralympian & England's highest-capped and most decorated blind male footballer, award winning Darren Harris.

Event details:

Three Course Dinner: Indulge in a delicious three-course dinner featuring an exquisite starter, a perfectly crafted main course and a decadent dessert. Enjoy great food and company while supporting an amazing cause.

Master of ceremonies: Dicky Dodd. Dicky’s career in radio started at Beacon Radio back in 1994. Since then he has enjoyed many years of hosting on-air radio shows and events. That’s a huge 29 years of being a radio and event host.

Key Note Speaker: Darren Harris PLY MPSA. Darren’s greatest achievements occurred on the sports field, becoming a Paralympian in both judo and football, and becoming England’s highest-capped and most decorated blind and male footballer with 157 appearances and 10 World and European medals.

Entertainment: Enjoy an unforgettable evening of entertainment at our ball. There will be something for everyone, so bring your dancing shoes and get ready to dance the night away!
