"Spirituality and love are intertwined, you can not find one without the other, and for people to have real, transformative faith, it is not enough to perform the outer obligations of religion - you have to fall in love with the beloved of Allah, Sayyidina Muhammad (PBUH), and to take him as your role model."
Join Shaykh Ali Elsayed, a prominent Nasheed Artist, Spiritual Educator and Children's Book Author, visiting Birmingham from Canada, for an evening of devotional poetry & song in the Forest at Beacon Valley.
Mercy to the Worlds | Shaykh Ali Elsayed
About the Artist
Ali Elsayed was born in Lebanon, and moved to the United States in the early 1990’s. He comes from a family of Sufi scholars and Nasheed reciters. He is a unique Artist and songwriter, able to combine East and West in his music, in a way which is simple, accessible and authentic.
Although Ali’s love for the Arabic language and maqamat (Arabic music scales) runs deep, he now writes mostly in English. This is due to his extensive experience reciting in front of audiences across the USA, Europe, Southeast Asia and Africa, learning that the majority of them were deprived of understanding the meanings contained within the beautiful Arabic poems - words which can make the spirit dance in ecstasy.
Join Shaykh Ali Elsayed amidst the trees, 20th century well and river source at Beacon Valley.
Brothers & Sisters will have their own seating zones in the open forest area.
