Connectivity and Corridors Workshop
The Beaver Hills Biosphere, in partnership with Parks Canada, is hosting a two-day workshop to bring together regional partners and stakeholders to discuss the state of connectivity in the Biosphere, identify gaps in connectivity planning, build awareness and foster collaboration to enhance ecological corridors.
The loss of connectivity negatively impacts wildlife populations, biological diversity, and essential ecosystem services. Fragmented landscapes can lead to isolated species, reduced genetic diversity and increased human-wildlife conflicts. Connectivity planning is a key component of managing land and biodiversity to ensure resilient ecosystems for future generations.

- Insights from the Centre for Large Landscape Conservation and the Kootenay Conservation Program
