Billericay Town Rotary Club Crafting Group

The Billericay Town Rotary Club Crafting Group meet in the Human Kind Café. The group make products that are sold to raise money Charity. As a result we have learnt a range of popular craft skills and techniques. Many visitors to the café have stopped to talk to us and express an interest in what we are doing. As a result, we have decided to run a monthly session on the first Friday of each month from 10am to 12pm. Our aim is to introduce those interested in crafting to a range of different crafts. As the months progress we will revisit the craft areas introducing more techniques. There is no need to attend each month, you can choose the craft areas that interest you.

The next three months will cover the following craft areas:

June-

Papercraft 2 - Embossing Techniques.
In this session participants will learn how to heat embossing a stamped image so it looks glossy. There will be opportunities to try the following embossing techniques; letter press, inking, watercoloring, sanding and guilding. These images can be used to make greeting cards, gift boxes or home decor. 

July-
Glass painting 2 - Glass Painting using transparent paint.
Participants will have the opportunity to paint glass using paint that gives a finish similar to stained glass. This paint has a different consistency and finish to acrylic paint. Participants will be given a piece of glass to paint. However, you may wish to bring their own glass.

August-
Macrame 2 - Small wall hanging.
This session introduces more complex macrame knots so participants can make a small wall hanging similar to those illustrated.
