We invite you to this month’s Girl Talk, where we explore strategies to build resiliency in the face of adversity. We will address the following fundamental questions:
💫 How can we keep our torches of hope ignited through the dark tunnels of trials and setbacks?
💫 How can we view our hardships as an opportunity to increase our patience, perseverance and prayer?
💫 How can we navigate our challenges with taqwa and reliance in Allah SWT?
About Speaker
Sr Kashmala Qasim completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology from the University of Toronto and completed a Masters in Neuroscience from McMaster University, with a focus on mental health and obesity. She has also completed the Taleem ul Qu'ran Diploma course from Al Huda Institute. Kashmala has been a lecturer in the Department of Psychology at the Islamic Online University, and has also received Level 1 Pastoral Counselling training from the University of Toronto. She is now pursuing a PhD at York University in Psychology, and is a Researcher with Khalil Center. Kashmala’s dissertation involves conducting qualitative research studies looking Muslim mental health.
