Join us for an intimate afternoon with Miami-Dade County Artist-in-Residence, Edouard Duval-Carrié!

When was the last time you heard an artist share the stories behind their extraordinary work? On Saturday, November 1st, at 3:00 p.m., you'll have the rare opportunity to experience exactly that. Edouard Duval-Carrié, an internationally renowned Haitian artist and only the second artist ever named Miami-Dade County Artist-in-Residence, will discuss his powerful vision and creative process in the Saladrigas Gallery.

Born in Port-au-Prince and trained at McGill University and the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts in Paris, Duval-Carrié has captivated audiences worldwide with work that speaks to the complexities of the Caribbean and its diaspora. His paintings and installations have been featured at the Pérez Art Museum Miami, The Bass Museum of Art, the 54th Venice Biennale, and museums across Europe and the Americas. Surrounded by 48 remarkable pieces, dramatic chandeliers, and his iconic sugar boat installation, you'll gain insight into the work that challenges conventional narratives and celebrates Caribbean culture.

Exhibition catalogs featuring an insightful essay by acclaimed art critic Elisa Turner will be available. Refreshments will be served.
