About Social Sundays

Social Sunday is BKD’s new monthly event! Run on the first Sunday of EVERY MONTH, replacing our past rotating Daytime Jams and Rope Socials.

It’s is a day for everyone in the BKD community , or those interested in joining it, to come out to mingle, play(games) and tie. We want to fully utilise our space to allow you multiple ways to spend your day.

You can expect:
Upstairs: Board games, puzzles, card games and more. Feel free to bring your own!
Kitchen and Foyer: Chatting over a cuppa, sharing snacks and milling about.
Main Room: Open tying area*, practice or have a full session, the floor is yours.
Cozy Corner: Lounge on our sofas, maybe cuddle under some blankets. Strike up a conversation about the weather, maybe read a book or just watch those tying.

In warmer months we may also introduce activities outdoors like arts and crafts to benefit the space!

*Unlike jams talking is allowed but we do ask you to respect those tying as usual (do not interrupt them or invade their space).

For who?

Our Sunday Socials are for everyone, they’re an especially great place to step your toes in the rope community for the first time and figure out if it’s for you. Unlike our Wednesday trainings no induction is mandatory so until you can attend one this is a great way to meet the vibrant people that make up BKD. This event is a great place to socialise with your friends and make new ones. You can also come along to tie with existing or new rope connections.

Do I need a partner?

No, this is a social event where tying is not required or even necessarily the main focus. Singles are welcome to come and meet new people to tie, but this may not happen, so we advise planning in advance to avoid disappointment if that is your focus. Remember there is lots to do other than tie at our socials!

The best place to meet a potential rope partner is during class and at our other jams and social events. We also have a dedicated Buddy Channel in our Telegram group (you can request to be added in person).

What do I need to bring and wear?

For Social Sundays you can wear whatever you'd like, you can dress up more like our jams (dresses, collared shirts, lingerie), casual wear, clothing like our classes (yoga attire), anything that makes you feel comfortable. But we ask to forgo fetishwear as it is supposed to remain a vanilla event.
-Please note like all BKD events outside shoes are NOT allowed. You will be asked to remove your shoes at check in, so bring indoor slippers, or socks of your choice.
-Glitter is not allowed in our venue.

Where, when and how much?

BKD events are held in a central, easily accessible venue in Belfast. It is walking distance (under 1 mile) from Grand Central Station and there is free parking. Directions will be detailed in an email after booking. Doors open 15 minutes before the start time. These Social Sundays are £15, but we also offer a few discounted tickets every event for those who need it. If you'd like to help support our space you can also pay 'a little extra'.

You can book your place by purchasing a ticket here. Once you have purchased your ticket please save it to be able to show at check in.
