Building on the foundational skills from Beginners Training, this class is the next progression of your rope journey. Having explored floor work and began learning the takate kote (TK), you're now ready to explore the art of suspension-ready bondage and alternative harness construction.
In Beyond Basics, you'll learn to create robust, structural harnesses designed for partial and full suspension. We'll diverge from the TK as the default starting point, teaching you to construct beautiful and functional partials using alternative harnesses, combined with known techniques, such as single column ties.
What You'll Learn:
- Suspension-safe harness construction and load distribution principles
- Upper and Lower body harnesses for partial suspension
- Creating secure attachment points without relying on the takate kote or armbinder
- Safety considerations for weight-bearing ties
- Transitioning between floor work and elevated positions
- Risk assessment and communication for suspension
Prerequisites: Riggers must have begun learning the TK in our Beginners Classes and have proficiency with single column ties, double column ties, fundamental rope handling skills and floorwork structures.

This class emphasizes safety, consent, and technical precision as we explore more challenging applications of shibari. Each technique is broken down step-by-step, with plenty of practice time and individual guidance to ensure confident execution.
