Jim Keller (cowriter of 867-5309/Jenny) and Mitchell Froom (Crowded House) met up in LA and after multiple meals and cups of bad coffee at the Snug Harbor on Wilshire Boulevard, hours wasted talking about every album made before 1972, they decided to work on some music together. They spent a few months sending songs back and forth — and Keller made two or three trips west from Brooklyn — before settling on a project. They roped in David Hidalgo (Los Lobos) and Bob Glaub (Jackson Browne), with Mitchell handling keyboards and Keller on acoustic guitar.
Tracks were recorded live, very simply, in Mitchell's home studio for the first album and Valentine Studio in the Valley for the second album. Come witness their magic and chemistry when they play songs from this all-star project.
