Kitchen Temple — Seasonal Spice Mix Sadhana
In ancient traditions, life was understood as a continuous movement of energy — shaped by rhythm, relationship, and natural law.
When we fall out of rhythm with these cycles, the body begins to struggle and works extra hard to re-align itself.
Fatigue, heaviness, disconnection and 'dis-ease' are not personal failings — they are signals.
Together, we sit in an old practice — making an Ayurvedic spice mix by hand at each seasonal turning of the year, six times across twelve months. Mother Earth doesn't move through four seasons, but six — subtle, distinct, and reliable once you know how to feel them. Living in step with them helps to align our bio-rhythms for healthy, sustainable living.
Using sacred practices and ancient teachings of Ayurveda — the Vedic science of life — we'll explore how seasonal shifts affect the body, and how small, simple, grounded yet ancient practices can meet you wherever you live.
Together, we'll:
- Sit in circle
- Chant as we:-
- Roast and grind spices mindfully, connecting to the primordial energy & memory of seeds
- Create an Ayurvedic spice blend to take home and add to your own cooking to support your body through the season ahead
The kitchen becomes the temple.
The body becomes the guide.
Bring: a jar, a pestle and mortar if you have one (spares available), cushion or something comfy to sit on.
