ABOUT THE EVENT:

BLR BookTalks bring together writers and editors for wide-ranging conversations about craft, creativity, and life. Our latest BookTalk features Pria Anand, BLR author and neurologist, who has now published her first book, The Mind Electric. Pria is joined in conversation with BLR editor Danielle Ofri to discuss writing, medicine, and the intricacies of the mind.

Don't miss this exciting conversation on June 11 as we dive into Pria's debut book, where she delves into the wonder and the brilliance of our brains, exploring "the vast gray area between sanity and insanity, doctor and patient, and illness and wellness, each separated from the next by the illusion of a different story." (priaanand.com)

(RSVP even if you can't make the exact time of the event. We'll send you an email the next day with the link, which will stay active afterward.)

PRAISE for The Mind Electric

“Fully charged...an undeniable grace and humanity permeate these pages.” — Booklist, starred review

“Anand’s writing is reminiscent of Oliver Sacks and the best of medical writing. I found the tales of her personal experiences and the dive into history fascinating. The Mind Electric is a compelling read." — Abraham Verghese, author of The Covenant of Water
