Join Bellevue Literary Review and Medscape for a conversation with Abraham Verghese, Eric Topol and Danielle Ofri about the role of writing during the Covid pandemic. Social media took on a critical role during the pandemic for sharing scientific and medical information. It was also a lifeline for patients and families. Additionally, the pandemic generated a profusion of deeply moving personal writings. This program is a tribute to the resilience of healthcare workers and patients, and how the pandemic inspired so many to pick up the pen.

Meet the Event Panelists
Abraham Verghese, MD is professor and vice chair of medicine at Stanford. He is also a best-selling author of Cutting for Stone, My Own Country, and The Tennis Partner. He received the Heinz Award in 2014 and was awarded the National Humanities Medal, presented by President Barack Obama, in 2015.

Eric Topol, MD is a cardiologist and founder and director of the Scripps Research Translational Institute. He is also editor-in-chief of Medscape. Danielle Ofri, MD, PhD is a primary care doctor at Bellevue Hospital, and editor-in-chief of BLR.
