Make A Traditional Illuminated Letter

Part I: Design, Drawing, Gilding

ALL MATERIALS INCLUDED – NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED

Come and learn how to design your own beautiful letter and illuminate it with precious metal leaf. You will be taken through the processes step by step and given some beautiful paper and a specially prepared wooden tile for your letter design.

This class is part 1 of two classes (part 2: Friday 28th November). Both sessions work as stand-alone classes should you only want to book one. However, booking both is highly recommended so that you will have the full experience of creating a complete, gilded and painted artwork on the specially prepared wooden tile.

About the Artist/Workshop Leader:

The session will be run by Sarah Wetherall, a local artist whose range is broad – from murals to miniatures she has painted in a variety of media and styles. Sarah is an experienced art tutor who has run classes at nearby Dulwich Picture Gallery for many years.
