Make an Illuminated Letter: Egg Tempera Paint

Join artist Sarah Wetherall for this month’s class in which you will make your own egg tempera paint to complete your illuminated letter design. This is the second part of a two-part class, but can be booked as a stand-alone if wanted. Please click for more information.

Part 2: Making and painting with Egg Tempera on wood.

ALL MATERIALS INCLUDED – NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED

In this class you will learn the surprisingly simple process of making egg tempera paint. For those of you who attended Part 1, you will use this to complete your gilded letter design.

However, the class is also designed to be a stand-alone class and it is not necessary to have attended the first one in October (you will still be illuminating a letter design). However, we recommend booking both so that you can have the full experience of learning the beautiful yet simple processes for making an illuminated letter.

About the Artist/Workshop Leader:

The session will be run by Sarah Wetherall, a local artist whose range is broad – from murals to miniatures she has painted in a variety of media and styles. Sarah is an experienced art tutor who has run classes at nearby Dulwich Picture Gallery for many years.
