An Introduction to Botanical Inks

Step into the world of plant-based colour and creativity. In this hands-on workshop you’ll learn how to make your own botanical ink from locally gathered materials, taking home a small bottle of ink and the recipe so you can continue experimenting afterwards.

Using the inks you create, we’ll explore drawing and mark-making through a series of relaxed exercises designed to unlock creative flow. The session will include observational drawing inspired by spring growth as well as playful, imaginative pattern-making.

All materials and refreshments are provided – just bring a sketchbook if you have one, or bring a new one to begin on the day.

The workshop is led by Zoë Burt, a London-based artist whose practice connects ecology, imagination and material culture through drawing, textiles and plant-based processes.
