Elizaveta Velikhova (piano) and Denis Patrickson (saxophone) are presenting a special spring program covering fiery classics, lyrical gems and original compositions. Formed in London in 2024 by saxophonist and pianist with extensive chamber and solo experience, the duo focuses on expanding the classical repertoire for saxophone while preserving the clarity and balance of traditional chamber music. The program features carefully curated works from the 19th and 20th centuries (Demersseman, Decruck, Edgar, Gershwin and more) alongside newly written pieces by the performers, created to highlight rhythmic precision and expressive depth. Each composition has been selected to demonstrate the versatility of the saxophone within a classical setting, from cantabile lines reminiscent of vocal arias to agile, technically demanding passages. The piano part is treated as an equal partner, shaping texture and structure rather than simply accompanying. The duo aims to make classical music accessible without compromising artistic standards, welcoming questions after the concert. Denis is a UK-based global talent, founder of Cherry Music project, renowned saxophone and piano player, composer, and a winner of multiple international competitions. Elizaveta is Royal School of Music graduate currently pursuing her masters. https://denispatrickson.com/classicalmusic
