Explore Natural Dyeing with Colours from a Living Garden

Discover the vibrant world of natural dyeing using seasonal plants from the Bell House garden and local area. Learn which botanicals yield colour and explore their rich histories across culture, trade, and fashion.
Get hands-on with plant-based dyeing and experiment with simple kitchen techniques to shift and expand your palette. Create your own sample card and take home a recipe guide to continue your practice.
Led by Zoë Burt, a London-based artist working with ecology, textiles, and plant-based processes to connect creativity with the living world.
All materials and refreshments provided.
Please bring protective gloves and an apron, and any imagery you may like to use for inspiration to make simple cut-out shapes.

Feedback from previous participants:
“Zoe is so talented and engaging. I was inspired to continue the craft. A hands-on approach allowed us all to be involved in the dyeing process and we had results that we could take home.”
