Jasmine Quartet: Beethoven, Smith, Montgomery, & Shaw

Join the Jasmine Quartet for an invigorating, exciting programme of works both old and new, ranging from the laser-focused dramatism of Beethoven’s Serioso quartet to the spare, architectural beauty of Caroline Shaw’s Plan & Elevation & vivacious, folk-inspired energy of Gabriella Smith’s Carrot Revolution and Jessie Montgomery’s Strum.

Through exuberant performances of groundbreaking programmes ranging from Haydn quartets to Charli XCX arrangements, the Jasmine Quartet (Mira Steenbrugge, Amber Correa, Becca Marr, & Ezra Escobar) brings contemporary classical music into new & unorthodox spaces, reframing the string quartet for the 21st century and advocating passionately for classical music’s most exciting emerging voices. Recent engagements include appearances at Folklore Hoxton, Karamel, St. James’s Piccadilly, St. Mary Abbots Church, Concerts for Charity London, the Albion Orchestra’s Up Close & Royal College of Music Great Exhibitionists concert series, recordings of works by Anna Disley-Simpson with the Chamber Choir of London, and a performance of Amble Skuse’s Sea Longing for the RCM Electric Dreams series celebrating Pierre Boulez’s centenary.

The Jasmine Quartet has been fortunate to receive support from the Hinrichsen Foundation and mentorship from the Marmen & Ligeti Quartets, Cecily Ward, & Simon Rowland-Jones at the Royal College of Music, where they were the recipients of the Helen Just & Susan Connell Prize and the Sacconi Quartet Prize as winners of the RCM String Quartet Competition as well as a special commendation in the RCM Contemporary Competition. They were jointly shortlisted with Zygmund de Somogyi for the 2026 Alpine Fellowship Music Prize.
