2-hour Taster session for 11-18s - Throwing on the Wheel

Learn the basics of throwing on the wheel

• This 2-hour workshop is for teenagers who would like to have a first go at throwing on the wheel. 
• For Tuesday 13 Feb only, accompanied parents/carers are welcome too! You can book a place to learn alongside your teenager.
• You will try your hand at centering clay on the wheel and throwing a small cylinder.
• At the end of the session, you can pick your favourite pot which will be glazed and fired for you. 
• The cost of all materials and firing are included in your course fee.
• These sessions are intended for 11-18s and their parents/carers. Adult only classes are available here.

About the teacher: Eliza Triance

Eliza Triance is a ceramicist whose adoration for clay has led her to work and teach internationally and to gain a first-class 'Ceramic Design' degree from Central Saint Martins. Her positive and upbeat personality ensures that Eliza's classes are engaging and fun. She believes it's essential for people of all ages to engage with their creativity and to experiment with the opportunities that clay presents.

Tickets and dates

Tickets cost £50 per session. Choose from these sessions:

• Tuesday 13 February 2024 10am - 12 midday (cross generational - ie accompanied adults, parents and carers also welcome)
• Wednesday 14 February 2024 10 am - 12 midday
• Thursday 15 February 2024 10 am -12 midday

• We offer concession tickets (half price) to those who currently receive any of the following: Pension Credit, Universal Credit Disability Benefit, Income Support or Job Seekers allowance. Please email pottery@bellhouse.co.uk to get your half price voucher.

Age group: 

• Tuesday 13th is cross generational, parents carers can accompany their teenager
• Wed and Thurs sessions are for 11-18s. Adult only classes are available here.
• Nothing is currently available for children under 11.

Refunds: 

No refunds are available. However if you cannot attend a Taster Class for any reason: 

• if you give us eight- (or more) days’ notice we can either reschedule or send you a code to rebook for a different Taster Class.
• If you give seven days’ notice or less, we cannot reschedule. There are no exceptions to this, so please do not ask or pressurise our staff.
• In the latter scenario where you give seven days’ notice or less that you cannot attend, your booked place remains yours to give to a friend or family member to attend instead of you. In which case please let us know who is coming in your place
