Cost
£225 for six 2-hour sessions.
Available dates:
Courses are on a Wednesday afternoon or evening and last for 6 weeks.
- 10th April - 15th May, 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm
- 10th April - 15th May, 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm
- 29th May - 3rd July, 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm
- 29th May - 3rd July, 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm
During the weekly 2-hour sessions:
- This is an ideal follow on course for those who have been on a 2-hour Taster course
- Beginners will have a first go at centering clay on the wheel, throwing cylinders and bowls.
- More advanced students will learn how to throw bigger and more challenging shapes.
- You will also learn how to finish your pots and how to glaze them.
- You can keep up to eight pots which will be fired for you at the end of this course.
- The cost of all materials and firings are included in your course fee.
Please note:
- This course is for adults, aged 18 and over.
- Throwing on the wheel can be a messy business and aprons will not be provided. Please wear appropriate clothing.
About the teacher: Kyra Stratoudaki
- This course will be led by Kyra Stratoudaki.
- After decades as a ceramics hobbyist, Kyra has, through the last decade, become a full-time maker and teacher.
- She mostly makes thrown functional ware and occasionally decorative stoneware or porcelain pots and jewellery.
