Throwing on the Wheel, all levels, with Yasmin Hamouda - 5-week course for adults

Available dates:

• All courses are on a Wednesday afternoon or evening and last for 5 weeks. Cost is £200.

During the weekly 2-hour sessions:

• Beginners will have a first go at centering clay on the wheel, throwing cylinders and bowls.
• More advanced students will learn how to throw bigger and more challenging shapes.
• You will also learn how to finish your pots and how to glaze them.
• You can keep up to six pots which will be fired for you at the end of this course. The cost of all materials and firings are included in your course fee.

Please note:

• This course is for adults, over 18. Separate courses will be available for the 11-18 age group.
• Throwing on the wheel can be a messy business and aprons will not be provided. Please wear appropriate clothing.

About the teacher: Yasmin Hamouda

• Yasmin Hamouda is a designer/maker based in South East London. 
• Originally from Northern Ireland, Yasmin worked as a chef and across many other roles in hospitality for almost 20 years, before bringing her food focused perspective to her ceramic practice. Since graduating from the Ceramic Design course at Central Saint Martins in Kings Cross, Yasmin has worked with numerous chefs and restaurants to design and make bespoke tableware.
• Teaching has been a significant part of her practice from very early on, covering a range of classes from one off tasters to more specialist courses on wheel thrown pottery. Yasmin teaches across London regularly and appreciates the value in sharing her love and knowledge for clay.
