Mono-Print Surface Decoration with Joanna Szwej-Hawkin
This is one-day workshop for intermediate level students who already have some experience working with clay.
Cost
£150; £75 concessions
You will
- Roll out clay and cut soft slabs
- Using a variety of techniques, create unique designs with coloured slips and underglazes on newsprint paper
- Learn how to apply your bespoke design to make 2D work such as ceramic pictures
You can keep 2-3 finished pieces which will be glazed with a transparent glaze and fired for you.
Teacher: Joanna Szwej-Hawkin
- This course will be led by Joanna Szwej-Hawkin
- Joanna works from her studio in Nunhead. Where her decorative and functional pieces are thrown and slab-built in earthenware or stoneware clay.
- To achieve a distressed look, she applies layers of different coloured slips, decorates them with bespoke photocopied transfers and ready-made decals.
- She makes limited editions and one-off pieces.
