Is your school looking for opportunities to connect with nature? Are you interested in exploring nature recovery in action in your local community?

Belmont Estate is delighted to offer a new outreach programme for KS3, GCSE and A-Level students looking to connect with, learn from, and BE Challenged to look after nature. Designed to reflect our ethos at Belmont, we believe that everybody should have the opportunity to enrich their connection to nature, climate and the community,  wellbeing and self-discovery, especially in an age where children aged 12-18 are most disconnected from nature.

Our offer is 2 free sessions in a single term; one at Watercress Farm and the second being at school.  Please note that the sessions are free, but schools are responsible for travel costs.

Visit 1: Join us at our rewilding site, Watercress Farm. We will explore the exciting potential of nature recovery, looking specifically at regenerative agriculture, biodiversity, climate change and how an enriched relationship with nature can have positive affects on wellbeing. The team will explain our rewilding projects’ mission, how it was created, what the project will deliver, what we hope to see from it in years to come. The session will last approximately 4 hours.

Visit 2: Our Nature Connection team will join you at your school in eco-clubs, geography and science lessons or for the selected groups of students that had visited Watercress Farm. Having seen the potential for nature recovery, we will guide students to consider what can be done at school to make a difference. We will facilitate the exploration for solutions that are specific to the school grounds inside and outside of the classroom before setting the Belmont Challenge, a challenge for students to complete across the year. The workshop will last approximately 2 hours and can be flexibly timed into the school day.

As nature-based solutions gain momentum, we must connect more people to these projects. We wholeheartedly believe in the passion young people have for sustainable practice and we need their help to deliver nature recovery at the pace and scale that the UK requires.

Belmont offers FREE spaces for passionate groups of KS3, GCSE or A-Level students, eco-clubs, sustainability coordinators or students who would benefit from a closer relationship to nature.

As a working rewilding farm, Watercress Farm is not universally accessible.

Minimum group size is 12 students

These will fill up quickly, so please get in touch with a member of our staff for further information and to secure your slot.

Join us to BE Wild, BE Closer, BE Inspired and BE Challenged.
