Nestled in the picturesque village of Benburb on the banks of the River Blackwater between the counties of Tyrone and Armagh lies Benburb Priory. The history of Benburb Priory and its 100 acres of outstandingly beautiful grounds stretches back to 1561 when Shane the Proud built the first iteration of what would become known as Benburb Castle. Since then the site has seen numerous and varied use, from castle, to site of battles, to Victorian Manor, World War II field hospital to the first Servite Priory on the Island of Ireland.
Our events are run by a team of volunteers made up of members of the Benburb Priory Community, the local community, local businesses, local schools, music groups and many more. All proceeds from our events will help to preserve Benburb Priory for future generations to enjoy. Thank you for booking with us.
