The Regulars May 8 - 24

The Regulars is a 75-minute play set inside a magic and joke shop in Boston's historic Fanieul Hall in 2002. Over the course of the summer three co-workers and a Paul Revere re-enactor juggle through ennui, big love, and ummm history as it unfolds around them.

The play examines how we live in a world simultaneously as mundane as it is achingly magic. Background music provides a narrative backbone to the tri tipped hats, whoopie cushions, and devil sticks.

The Regulars asks: Is it possible to work with others without falling in love with them? If history is full of ordinary people doing extraordinary things, how come Steven Tyler isn’t at Buttons? What is the ontology of juggling?

The Regulars features Ash Aranha, Jaclyn Jensen, Jacqui Touchet, and Dustin Valenta and is written by Eliza Bent, directed by Shea Leavis, with scenic consultant Eleanor Khan, sound design by Stephan Moore, props by Alice Woo, intimacy choreography by Bianca Thompson, costumes by Erica Whitman, and stage managed by Taylor Stageberg.
