Who Thrives in the AI Era? | B4: Breaking Bread, Building Bridges Community Event

Tue Apr 14, 2026 5:15 PM - 7:30 PM Wells Fargo Room (C420), 94720

"Who Thrives in the AI Era?" is a 2-hour in-person community dialogue and dinner (Tuesday, 4/14, in Wells Fargo Room) open to all faculty, staff, students, and alumni at UC Berkeley.

Rather than a traditional lecture, this evening is a culminating large-scale B4 experience: a series of timely expert-led dialogues held over a shared meal to bridge perspectives and build belonging across Haas programs. Doors open at 5:15 PM; dinner and programming begin promptly at 5:30 PM. Together, we will:

  • What Gets Encoded: Examine how emerging models encode, replicate, and enforce social hierarchies, and explore how they might be developed to produce more equitable outcomes.

  • Courage in an Age of Uncertainty: Gain insights and skills for productive disagreement, increasing our capacity for both the "courage to be wrong" and the "courage to be right" when navigating high-stakes conversations.

  • Building Dignity into the Future of Work: Close with an industry keynote on the intentionality required to build human-centered AI products that prioritize equity and dignity.

DINNER: Featuring a curated menu from local favorites: Calabash, Everett & Jones, and Jollof Kitchen!
