Zentangles with Jessica Davies, CVT

Zentangle® is an easy-to-learn, relaxing and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. It promotes concentration, creativity and well-being. Founded by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas, a former monk and calligrapher respectively, the Zentangle® Method is a combination of meditation and art taught in an accessible way. 

The process of creating Zentangle® patterns has a calming effect on the mind and the ease of access means that it can be practiced by anyone at any time, bringing the mind to a more peaceful, productive state. The stunning, non-representational art that derives from this teaching provides artistic satisfaction and is a metaphor for deliberate artistry in life. 

This Zentangle® Basics class will provide a beginner with a background in the history of Zentangle®, introducing the basic steps of the method and exposing the associated vocabulary and tools. Students will be immersed in creating actual Zentangle® art during this two-hour class. Jessica will also demonstrate how to use your beautiful inks and fountain pens to enhance your tiles. 

Trained by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas, the founders of Zentangle®, Jessica Davies CZT is certified to teach tangling and the eight step Zentangle® Method. She crafted a career in higher education before Zentangle® and is a career-minded individual, fierce friend and craftaholic. Jessica teaches Zentangle® locally and online, is in demand to teach at retreats, and also offers corporate seminars and private classes.
