Best Of, FFS - What Politicians Do Panel

The motto of the Best Of, FFS project is "Believe the best of things and people, and better things can happen".

Politicians play a very important role in our society, from the local (such as Councillors) through Mayors, Members Of Parliament, and to Prime Ministers.

A line often encountered about politicians is, 'They don't do anything and they're all in it for themselves'.

Yet do we know what they do, beyond television soundbites of a few seconds?

Can we see the people behind the headlines? And talk with them about what they do without talking about party politics  itself and hearing party lines?

Yes, we can. At this Panel event which brings together local politicians to talk about their stories, their roles, the demands of their jobs, and why they carry on at a time when public trust is challenged and social media and other influences and influencers are providing a difficult backdrop to politics.

 We need the right people in politics for the right reasons. We need people to participate in politics and public life and to vote at elections. Events like this can help provide a new perspective.

In 2027, we will invite people from all 32 London boroughs to a similar event, and build further.
