Best Of, FFS - Biodiversity and the Future Of Man

The motto of the Best Of, FFS project is "Believe the best of things and people, and better things can happen".

This event is being held at an English Heritage property, Down House, the former home of Charles Darwin.

Darwin's work was pivotal to the understanding of evolution. In 2026, holding an event in his former home and gardens, where he conducted many of the experiments that were written into his books, is timely. Evolution is, arguably, being accelerated and changed in ways we are yet to understand.

Day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute, decisions can be made that can help deal with the way we are affecting and are affected by the natural world. The more this is shared and debated, the better. And here we follow in the footsteps of Darwin.

Antony O'Rourke, Head Gardener at Down, will provide insights into Darwin's thinking and the future of biodiversity.

In 2027, we will invite people from all 32 London boroughs to a related event, and build further.
