Historic Building Basics
Join Stephen Boniface from BEST Training for a one-day walk-and-talk training event at Chiltern Open Air Museum.
This practical course explores the development of traditional buildings through the ages using the Museum's remarkable collection of historic structures. Throughout the day you'll examine a wide variety of building types, construction methods and materials while discussing how they were built, how they have changed over time and the typical issues encountered when inspecting and repairing them.
From timber frames and cruck construction to thatch, witchert, brickwork and early industrial buildings, this is an opportunity to learn on site while asking questions and discussing real buildings with an experienced conservation professional.
