BGP Presents Fall Sunday Sessions: Amy Chavasse
Join us in the studio for a 2.5-hour workshop with dance artist Amy Chavasse.
Sunday, October | 12:00–2:30 PM
Bushwick, Brooklyn
Off the L at Morgan Ave
Sliding scale: $15–30
Workshop Description
Two part workshop: 1) stacking up a story word by word 2) what came before
Falling into entangled notions of time and sequence, this Sunday Session will be devoted to accumulating improvised movement narratives through collective storytelling and traveling from the end to the beginning. Participants bring their movement and their language in improvised performance share-a-thons.
Now in its 4th year, Sunday Sessions is a workshop series inviting participants to learn embodied practices from dance artists working across improvisation, choreography, and intersections of neurodivergence and queer creative research.
Each artist leads a 2.5-hour session, sharing tools and approaches from their own creative practice through a physical, in-person experience. Sessions invite movers to explore individual movement invention, experimentation, and ensemble practices, opening up possibilities for connecting with others and building each moment together.
The studio is located in an older Bushwick arts building and is not a traditional dance space. Wear comfortable clothing you can move in.
Presented and produced by Beth Graczyk Productions (BGP) as part of our Fall Sunday Sessions.
