A family style cooking class to be held at Sabone Kitchen in Woods Cross. The class will be taught by chef Billy Moschella, Jr., founder of Betony Traveling Café, a Salt Lake City-based personal/private chef and catering service.
Class participants will be preparing a version of an old Sicilian classic, perfect for the upcoming holiday season: baked stuffed jumbo pasta shells filled w/ a shrimp & fresh crab meat stuffing, covered with a Sugo Rosa ("rose sauce") and mixed blend cheeses, and finished in the oven. Participants will learn how to prepare two sauces, both of which are staples in Italian cuisine: a red wine marinara and a vodka cream sauce, combing them together to create a rich and creamy pink sauce. For dessert, the class will be preparing a Mediterranean fig, almond and honey cake with a mascarpone cream.
This will be a FULLY HANDS-ON cooking class, and participants will be involved in every step of the prep and cooking process. The final hour of the class will be set aside for a group dinner in a banquet room, where participants will get to socialize and taste their creations!
Each class participant will receive:
- Full-sized dinner and dessert portions of the meal
- Copies of the recipes, with step-by-step instructions
- A bottle of water
Minimum class participation is 15 guests, with a max of 30 guests *(if class participation is low, ticket buyers will have the option of either rescheduling for the evening of December 6th or having the full ticket price refunded)
