Gloucestershire B Local is hosting a best practice webinar on the not for profit landscape in Gloucestershire.

What exactly is the Voluntary Sector? 

The role, scale and impact of the VCSE (Voluntary, community and social enterprises) sector are often underestimated, yet it plays a critical part in the fabric of services across our county. In this webinar, we’ll take a deeper look at the sector: what it is, how it works, and why it matters to all of us. We’ll explore its role in supporting and protecting the NHS, delivering essential community services, and creating opportunities for skills and employment. We’ll also look at why the VCSE sector is uniquely placed to lead on prevention and tackle inequalities at a local level, and what that means for the way we work together going forward.

The presenter
Matt Lennard is the CEO of the Gloucestershire VCSE Alliance, an independent charity supporting community groups and not for profits throughout the county. 

He believes the VCSE sector works best when it works together and that we’re stronger as a connected network than as separate parts. He’s focused on breaking down silos, building relationships, and helping different parts of the sector collaborate more easily. He’s passionate about the VCSE sector as a driver for social change, and believes these organisations are a vital part of the communities they serve. Their dedication, local knowledge, and ability to adapt mean they play a hugely important role in supporting people at a hyperlocal level. Matt is also committed to helping us grow into a modern, ambitious, and data-driven organisation - one that can keep up with and support a fast-changing VCSE sector across Gloucestershire.
