We are delighted to bring you this special course this Autumn. Our hope is that you will feel welcomed, comfortable, and free to explore your creativity with nature as your inspiration. This course is about taking time in nature, experimenting with your own writing style, and seeing where your creativity takes you. With the guidance of our experienced facilitators, Derek and Sarah Niemann, you’ll be supported to grow in confidence so that writing for wellbeing can become another way of caring for yourself and deepening your connection to nature.
Derek and Sarah bring many years of experience leading writing courses and workshops. Their sessions are inclusive, welcoming, and—most importantly—good fun. To ensure a supportive and relaxed atmosphere, we are limiting the group to a maximum of ten participants.
Here's what they have to say about the course:
"Find joy in writing with a six-week course that puts nature to the fore. Let your imagination run wild in a group where there’s no pressure or stress, and no, you don’t need to be an expert! The emphasis is on kindness and having fun. You’ll be with Cambridge University creative writing tutor and Guardian country diarist Derek Niemann and his photographer/editor wife Sarah Niemann."
We are also fortunate to be based at Jackdaws, a beautiful and cosy venue set in the heart of Great Elm Woods, near Frome. The room is warm and inviting, with a peaceful quiet garden too. All refreshments will be provided. You only need to bring pen and paper or your favourite notebook.
