What it is:
Econidra is a beautiful blend of elements taken from restorative Yoga Nidra combined with Forest Therapy. It is a practice of slowing down to stillness and silence. Described as a deep, holistic way to relax and reconnect with nature, with our body and our heart, it is a powerful self-care tool that can be quick, accessible, carried out outdoors, indoors or on-line and needs no particular level of fitness or any prior experience.
More than just relaxation, Econidra moves us into a specific state of internal awareness where a conscious experience of dreamless, deep sleep invites us to become connected with the inner world and disconnected from the outer world.
What to expect:
The practice invites you to have a nature partner somewhere nearby - while not essential, you might choose to bring a small natural object (a stone, feather or shell etc) with you. After a welcome and brief introduction, you will have time to make yourself comfortable and cosy, preparing to rest. You will be invited to simply let go of the demands of the day and be guided by my voice into a dream-like state between waking and sleeping.
We will begin our meditative triple journey with a gentle sensory exploration, including your imaginal sense. This is followed by a Pilgrimage through the body, bringing your soft awareness to different areas, and finishing with a nature soundscape journey.
What you will need:
You will need an indoor or outdoor space where you won't be disturbed and somewhere comfortable to sit or lie. You may wish to use headphones and an eye mask, and keeping a blanket handy for extra warmth is always useful in case your body temperatures falls as you become more deeply relaxed.
