COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Qi gong is an ancient practice working with mind, body and breath and is the perfect antidote to our busy, often stressful lives. During this term spread over 6 weeks we will work on some gentle but powerful Qigong sequences including the 18 forms, the most practiced Qigong sequence in the world and the 12 Rivers- 12 simple movements that correspond with 12 organs within your body. You will gain an understanding of the meridians in your body, where they flow and how to stretch them to increase the flow of Qi (energy) and unblock any blockages to allow a free flow of Qi and blood, which leads to a healthier body. We will also explore some other breathwork and Qigong practices in our warm ups and cool downs. Physically Qigong can help with muscles, joints and ligaments and improve body alignment, posture and balance. It also helps our immune system too as it gets the lymphatic system moving. Emotionally it can help to shift blocked emotional patterns and reduce stress and anxiety. This is innercise not exercise! Once learnt these practices can be slotted into daily life to balance the body and leave you feeling calm yet energised.
COURSE DETAILS:
This is a 6 week term- each session will be 45 minutes long and will run at Offham Village Hall, Church Road, Offham, ME19 5NY on Mondays at 12.15pm to 13.00pm starting on Monday 9th September and ending on Monday 14th October 2024.
The ticket price of £60 is for all 6 sessions. ( £10 a class)
