Marchlyn Mawr Horseshoe

Come and join me on one of my favourite circular hikes, the Marchlyn Mawr Horseshoe (Loop), where we will take in 4 mountain summits, Elidir Fawr, Elidir Fach, Mynydd Perfedd and Carnedd y Filiast. 

It is a beautiful hike with stunning views into Ogwen Valley and across to Yr Wyddfa 

Hike Details:

Distance: 6 miles / 10km

Start: 8:30am

Duration: 5 hours (approx)

Elevation: 2,300ft

Terrain: Uneven rocky ground, with some small sections of scrambling over boulders and scree paths - which can be walked around if preferred.

About your guide:

Hi, I'm Emily and I'm a qualified Mountain Leader and Outdoors First Aid certified. If you know me, you will probably know North Wales is one of my favourite places.

I am hugely passionate about bringing women together in a safe space in the outdoors. I know first hand what it can feel like to be overwhlemed by huge groups of new people, that's why my aim is to keep these group walks small, so you can take the time to get to chat and meet other likeminded women.

I will share a full kit list with your welcome email, but here is a brief idea.

• Back pack
• Hiking boots / shoes
• Food / snacks
• Water (bring plenty)
• Waterproofs - jacket and coat
• Layers

Toilets:

There are no toilets on this hike, so if you do need to stop before we start, I suggest stopping at Llyn Padarn public toilets, or alternatively fully embrace the 'wild wee'.

Parking:

This is typically a quiet lay-by with plenty of parking.

I aim to make these as safe and enjoyable as possible for everyone, so this will be kept to a nice and steady pace, with plenty of opportunities to stop, catch your breath, take a chat and admire the views.
