Summer Sun Catcher Social

Join us for the Summer Sun Catcher Social — an inclusive evening designed to build friendships, encourage communication, and foster community for children, teens, and young adults of all communication styles and abilities throughout Northern New Jersey.

Each participant will create their own beautiful colorful sun catcher to take home. The evening also includes games, conversation starters, music, and a small snack. This is a family-attended event — parents and caregivers remain onsite throughout the evening.

What to expect:
🌿 Sun catcher craft — hands on, sensory friendly, all abilities welcome
🎲 Games — board games, card games and group fun
💬 Conversation starters — prompts to spark connection and new friendships
🎵 Music — a fun and welcoming atmosphere
🍎 A small snack is included

Who is this for:
This event welcomes children, teens, and young adults of all ages and ability levels with special needs and their families. All communication styles are celebrated and supported — spoken language, AAC devices, sign language, gestures, vocalizations, facial expressions, and more. No prior experience or specific diagnosis required — everyone is welcome here.

Accessibility:
The Paramus Elks Lodge is located behind the Raymour & Flanigan on Rte 17 in Paramus. It is a wheelchair accessible venue with accessible parking, entrance, and restrooms.

About your facilitator:
Beyond Words Collective events are professionally designed and facilitated by Kayla Freeman, a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with nearly 10 years of experience serving children and young adults with special needs. Every event is thoughtfully planned to create a welcoming, inclusive, and meaningful experience for every participant.

Registration pricing:
🌿 Early bird — $45 per child through August 16
🌿 Standard registration — $50 per child August 17, 18 and at the door
🌿 Siblings welcome — $15 per sibling

Cancellation policy:
Tickets are non-refundable. In the event of a cancellation by Beyond Words Collective, a full refund will be issued. If you are unable to attend, your ticket may be transferred to another family — please contact us at info@beyondwordsnj.com.
