To find out, please come along to a free community screening of the 50-minute film People's Emergency Briefing at Raines Foundation School on Approach Road in Bethnal Green E2 9LY on Sunday September 13th. It will be followed by a facilitated group discussion, including ideas for taking local and community action. Doors open at 4.30pm.

It presents the national implications of climate and nature breakdown in a single, accessible, non-partisan account, helping audiences process the information on a more human level. It will deliver the frank facts about the threats, but also the enormous benefits to our economy, resilience and quality of life of Government leading on genuine emergency action.

People’s Emergency Briefing had its national release on 7th April 2026, and over 2,000 screenings of the film have either taken place or have been confirmed to take place so far.

The UK faces a growing climate and nature emergency, yet most of us have never been fully briefed on what this really means for our lives.

Last November, the National Emergency Briefing brought together leading experts to present the latest evidence a historic briefing to politicians and other influential figures in Westminster. The idea behind this film is that everyone deserves access to the same evidence about the risks we face and the choices ahead as those briefed in Westminster, and is designed for communities to watch together.

Hosted by Chris Packham and featuring footage from the briefing, alongside reactions from members of the public across the UK as well as some more familiar faces, the film examines everything from food, public health and national security to the economy and community resilience. It presents a clear, evidence based overview of the risks facing everyday life in Britain, and the credible responses available.

After the screening, there will be a short, relaxed discussion, giving people the opportunity to reflect on the film, and providing a supportive space to share thoughts, ask questions, and consider positive steps forward together.

Please bring along friends, neighbours or family members, everyone is welcome!

Seats are free but limited so please book in advance. Refreshments available.
