B&H Dairy, one of New York City’s oldest kosher dairy restaurants (est. 1938), invites you to celebrate New York’s Yiddish heritage with good company, great food, and one of its leading cultural historians — Henry Sapoznik — as he reads from his new book, The Tourist’s Guide to Lost Yiddish New York City (SUNY Press).

About Henry Sapoznik

Henry Sapoznik is an award-winning musicologist, performer, and producer who has helped revive and preserve Yiddish and American traditional music for over four decades. A five-time Grammy nominee and Peabody Award winner, he founded the landmark KlezKamp festival and has reissued or recorded more than fifty albums.

His latest book, The Tourist’s Guide to Lost Yiddish New York City (SUNY Press), explores the city’s hidden Yiddish past — from music and theater to food and community life.
