Ride Out UK Bluebell Pleasure Ride
Sun 12 May 2024 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM BST
Wakes End Farm, Eversholt,, MK17 9FB
Description
BHS Bedfordshire's Ride Out UK Bluebell Ride offers a fabulous opportunity to explore this lovely part of Bedfordshire.
PLEASE NOTE - the first three timeslots are now (15 April) nearly full with only 1 ticket showing in each - we can accommodate 1 group in each so if you are booking for a larger group then please grab that ticket and then email bhs.beds@gmail.com to arrange to add the others.
Likewise, if you are joining an already booked group, email us and we can arrange that too!
THE RIDE
There is a choice of two distances - approximately 7.5 miles or 12 miles.
The routes are on public and permissive bridleways and country and village lanes and should give you the chance to admire the lovely bluebells in the woods! Please note that both distances involve crossing the M1 twice on bridleway bridges with parapets.
The ride is raising money for the BHS Ride Out UK fund which provided funding for bridleway projects across the country - including Bedfordshire! The entry price is £20, which is not refundable on cancellation unless the ride is full and we are able to resell your place.
Rosettes for all. Photographer and medical support on duty.
ALL HORSES MUST BE VACCINATED - minimum first two injections (at least 6 days before the event) or annual booster in up to date record. Random checks may be carried out.
BOOKING
Just click on the blue 'book now' button.
Starts will be within a half hour window during the period 9.30am to noon but note that those starting after 11am will only be able to do the 7.5 mile route (unless you arrive at the split before the last of the 12 milers). You will be offered the opportunity to buy tickets for a specific slot.
Maximum group size is 5 and you can buy 5 tickets at once BUT you will need a lot of information about the other riders:
- their email address (so we can send them information about the ride)
- the mobile number they will take on the ride
- age if under 18 and escort details if 16 or under
- their emergency contact details (not someone on the ride - someone we can call in the case of an accident)
- their 3rd party insurance provider (insurer name and policy number or BHS gold membership number)
- confirmation that their horse complies with the vaccination requirements
- their permission to agree to the privacy terms and terms and conditions on their behalf
So it may be easier to book individually.
If you are booking for a larger group and insufficient tickets are available in your chosen slot, you may email bhs.beds@gmail.com to see if we can accommodate you. But this cannot be guaranteed.
ENTRIES CLOSE Sunday 5th May at 11.45pm, or when the ride is full which may be before that date.
This ride is one of multiple events taking place across Greensand Country as part of the annual Greensand Country Festival in May. Defined by the Greensand Ridge, the new name for the distinct, beautiful and loved countryside from Leighton Buzzard to Gamlingay, Greensand Country is rich in wildlife and cultural heritage just waiting to be explored.
