BHS Stages 4 & 5 Stable Management Training Day

This training day is ideal or anyone preparing to take either the Stage 4 Stable Management Assessment or Stage 5 Stable Managers Assessment. 

The day will be delivered by  the brilliant Patrick Print FBHS.  A fantastic opportunity to train with a highly respected coach and BHS assessor.  

The day will cover both the practical and theory sections of the Stage 4 and Stable Managers assessment:  Feeding & Fitness,  Veterinary, saddlery and practical coaching skills, Static & Dynamic assessment of conformation and action for purchase,  Breeding, static assessment of breeding stock and grassland management.

Provisional programme:

• 9.50 am Meet and greet

• 10:00 am Horse assessment, static and dynamic conformation (for purchase, suitability for discipline/job, and breeding)

• 11:00 am Analyse condition and fitness, ailments

• 12.00 pm Tack & training aids/medications

• 1:00 pm Lunch

• 1.30 pm Deliver training to develop staff or students - discuss (to include, bandaging, double bridles and leg protection for jumping)

• 2.30 pm Discussion on management of competition horses, fitness and feeding, understanding breeding.

• 3.30 pm Debrief/Q+A

For anyone who is planning to take the assessment in the near future, and wishes to gain constructive feedback, there will be opportunities to get hands on and practically demonstrate your skills and understanding throughout the day. If you would just like to learn more about what is involved at this level, you can listen and learn without putting yourself under any pressure.
