Big Ideas: More Music for 18 Musicians

Big Ideas presents large ensemble jazz, improvised, & experimental music performed by a rotating lineup of musicians based across the North of England.

In honour of Steve Reich's 90th birthday we present a new programme of music for 18 piece big band inspired by and responding to the ideas behind minimal music, with a title riffing on Reich's seminal work 'Music for 18 Musicians'. As ever, the set is comprised of freshly commissioned pieces and arrangements by composers based across the North, performed by a specially assembled ensemble of some of the region's leading musicians.
