Big Ideas: Ferg's Imaginary Big Band

Big Ideas presents large ensemble jazz, improvised, & experimental music performed by a rotating lineup of musicians based across the North of England.

For our final Manchester gig of the season we're delighted to bring Ferg's Imaginary Big Band over the Pennines from Leeds as they tour their new album 'The New Atomic'. Featuring musicians from Awen Ensemble, Ancient Infinity Orchestra, Plantfood, KOG, and many other bands from the Leeds independent music scene, the group takes inspiration from a wide tapestry of influences ranging from The Sun Ra Arkestra, Duke Ellington and Count Basie, to bowling, Godzilla and Mexican-American restaurants.
