Summer Camps at Big Jim Farms
Big Jim Farms Summer Camp
Get ready for an unforgettable summer on the farm at Big Jim Farms! Our hands-on summer camps give students the opportunity to explore the outdoors, connect with animals, build confidence, and experience life on a real working farm in Albuquerque’s beautiful North Valley.
For years, Big Jim Farms has welcomed thousands of students through our educational field trips and farm experiences. We have always believed in creating meaningful connections between kids, agriculture, nature, and the land. After seeing how much students love visiting the farm for a single day, we wanted to expand that experience into something deeper — giving campers the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in farm life, agriculture, stewardship, teamwork, and hands-on learning throughout an entire week.
Campers will enjoy exciting daily activities including animal interactions, gardening, harvesting fresh produce, outdoor adventures, creative projects, irrigation and planting demonstrations, nature exploration, games, teamwork activities, and more. Students will gain real hands-on experience while learning where food comes from and how farms operate.
Throughout the week, campers will explore topics such as:
- Agriculture and food systems
- Environmental responsibility and conservation
- Leadership and teamwork
- Gardening and harvesting
- Farm entrepreneurship
- Animal care and stewardship
- Soil, water, and sustainability
- Connection to nature and the outdoors
Our camps are designed to encourage creativity, curiosity, independence, leadership, and confidence in a fun, safe, and welcoming environment. Whether your child loves animals, enjoys being outdoors, likes working with their hands, or simply wants to try something new, there is something for everyone at the farm.

Why Farm Camp?
Today, many kids have little connection to where their food comes from or how agriculture impacts everyday life. At Big Jim Farms, campers have the opportunity to unplug, get outside, work with their hands, and experience meaningful connections with nature, animals, farming, and community.
We believe these experiences help build confidence, leadership, creativity, problem-solving skills, and a lifelong appreciation for agriculture and the outdoors.
Student camp forms and required paperwork will be emailed after booking. Forms include emergency contacts, waivers, medical information, pickup authorization, and camp details.
Spots are intentionally limited to keep groups small, hands-on, and personalized. Early registration is highly encouraged.
